ANCON HILL is the highest point in the city of Panama. The hill stands 654
feet high. A Panamanian flag flies atop the hill. The Panamanian flag replaced
the US flag which flew there for most of the 20th century.
The hill is protected and amidst the lush greenery that covers the hill you may
see an armadillo, a sloth and many types of birds.
The view from the top is amazing and you can see large parts of the city. One
side of the hill overlooks the city skyline and Casco Viejo. The other side
overlooks the locks, the municipal airport and the canal.
Very few tourists venture up to the top of Ancon Hill as the roads are not wide
